Playtest vs Early Access
| Feature | Open Playtest | Early Access |
|---|---|---|
| Date | September 2 to September 14, 2026 | September 25, 2026 |
| Access | Limited Steam Request Access flow | Paid Early Access launch |
| Purpose | Feedback, testing, early hands-on impressions | Ongoing public development |
| Platforms | Steam Playtest | Steam, GOG.com, Epic Games Store |
| Best for | Trying the game early and sending feedback | Starting a longer settlement save once EA begins |
What to Check First If You Get In
| First thing to test | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Food supply | Early settlers need reliable meals before expansion |
| Water access | Town Hall location may change whether water is easy or urgent |
| Wood and planks | Most construction depends on a steady material chain |
| Warehouse placement | Storage distance can slow the whole settlement |
| Housing coverage | New settlers need homes near water, work, and services |
| Road layout and snapping | The current build should confirm how flexible layouts can be |
| Journey choices | The new progression structure should guide beginner priorities |
| Scout / expedition flow | Expansion depends on discovering new points of interest |
Is Playtest Progress Saved for Early Access?
The official playtest announcement focuses on access and feedback, not save transfer. Until the developer confirms otherwise, assume playtest saves may not carry into the September 25 Early Access build.
