Wild West Pioneers Release Timeline: Playtest, Early Access, Full Release

The Wild West Pioneers release timeline has three separate answers: the Steam Open Playtest began September 2, 2026, Early Access starts September 25, 2026, and the full 1.0 release date has not been announced.

If you want to play before Early Access, use the Steam Playtest access guide rather than the older February demo page.

Release Date Summary

When Does Wild West Pioneers Release?

Wild West Pioneers releases in Early Access on Friday, September 25, 2026. Toplitz Productions confirmed the date and lists PC availability through Steam, GOG.com, and Epic Games Store.

Because this is an Early Access launch, expect the game to continue receiving updates after release rather than arriving as a final 1.0 version.

Wild West Pioneers Playtest Date

The Steam Open Playtest began on September 2, 2026 and the publisher says it is available until September 14, 2026. To opt in, go to the Steam page and click Request Access. Access is not guaranteed; Steam and the developer may admit players in waves.

Toplitz describes this as the last open playtest before Early Access, with playtime limited to two hours in a specially prepared build.

For the full access steps, see our Wild West Pioneers Playtest Guide.

Early Access Platforms

If you only want to wishlist or request playtest access today, Steam is the most important page because the open playtest flow is handled there.

For console and storefront availability, see the Wild West Pioneers Platforms Guide.

Early Access Timeline

What Is Included in Early Access?

Official store and announcement copy describes Wild West Pioneers as a frontier city builder about building prosperous settlements, managing simulated settlers, establishing production chains for food and wood, scouting new points of interest, setting up trade routes, and expanding across multiple settlements.

The Early Access FAQ describes the launch scope as including upgradable buildings, multiple biomes, a world map connecting several settlements, fully simulated settlers, citizen roles, and expeditions. Future development is expected to add more production chains, advanced buildings, transportation options, random events, and map variety.

Should You Wait for Full Release?

If you want the most polished version, waiting for 1.0 is reasonable because the full release date is not announced. If you enjoy city builders that evolve through community feedback, September 25 is the important date. Early Access is specifically framed as a collaborative process where player feedback shapes future development.
